Book-By-Book Bible Printables ~~ A New TOS Review!!

We generally don't count Bible as a subject for our homeschool, but we definitely encourage our children to spend time learning the Bible, studying the Bible and being able to talk about all there is in the Bible. One of the main aspects of our new life here in Indiana is to minister to the lost and to do so as a family. What better way to help prepare my children then to able to use a wonderful resource we've had the privilege to review over the last few weeks -- the Book-By-Book Bible Printables from Teach Sunday School.

And they are EXACTLY what you think by their title. One page printable summaries of each and every book of the Bible, all 66 of them, plus a few extra pages (like title pages) are included in the 75 page PDF. Their purpose is to give the user an overview of the Bible book they are about to encounter. I knew that having these on hand will become very useful in our church plant. But in the meantime, I found a few other uses which I'll touch on a little later. First let me tell you what is on the summary page.

They are laid out all the same. First you have the name of the book at the top and then directly under that has three sections:  Time period (Old or New Testament), Author, and date the book was written. This was eye-opening to my one daughter who was looking at Luke and then realized that Acts was written by the same person! It was like a lightbulb had turned on and it was amazing.

Then there are some sections that spotlight the Most Famous Verses, Famous Stories, and also the Claim to Fame for the book. These also have been so fun to read through and see if I could recognize all the stories or whether I knew the book's claim to fame. Some I hadn't and neither had my eldest.  My son liked to read the famous verse and see if it had been a memory verse he has had. We were reading the ones on the Proverbs page and he knew one of them, but the other was not as recognizable. So he decided he was going to read that one every day so he could memorize it. I love that these cards are helping him to delve into Scripture! These famous verses would also be great ones to memorize throughout the year. Maybe 1 from Old and New for each month - that would be 24 verses!!

At the very bottom of the page it tells some important details from the book that you really want to get from the book - the nitty gritty meaning or the heart of what that particular book of the Bible is trying to teach. These will be great to pull discussion question from in a small group setting.

My eldest chose Philippians to look at because it's her favorite book of the Bible. I picked Ephesians for the same reason. My husband chose Obadiah to take to work so that he could study it in his spare minutes while at work. I love that we could all be studying and learning the Bible, but our focus can be on separate books just by incorporating these Bible handouts.

The way we were able to do that was I decided to print them all and I laminated them. At some point I will find my 3 hole punch and be able to also bind them for safe keeping. I ran out of sleeves, but did most of the New Testament and some books from the Old Testament. The other cool thing with them being laminated, we can use a dry erase marker and the kids could mark them up. When we go to start our next study (I don't think dad has picked a book yet) I plan on printing one for each of us so we will all have our own to read and study and then we can use the Famous Verses to pick a memory verse from.

These are a great resourse for any home or church. They could be used for games. You can use them in a variety of ways, the possibilities are endless. Just check out below how all the Crew members used their Book-By-Book Bible Printables. Also be sure to check out Teach Sunday School on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube!
