R.E.A.C.H. Expo 2017

Thanks to Kim Andrysczyk for inviting us up to Columbia, SC, to participate in a panel discussion on curriculum choices and do a presentation about unit studies, as part of the 2017 Homeschool Expo hosted by R.E.A.C.H. Homeschool Support.  It is great to see a book swap/sale grow into an expo with speakers, presenters and a room filled with tables of used books!

Kelly and I love being able to meet with other homeschoolers and help them with curriculum questions and concerns.  We love giving advice and encouragement, especially to new or overwhelmed parents.

That is truly one of our passions ... to help anyone interested in homeschooling to feel confident that they can do it just like we have. It has nothing to do with your 'credentials'. A quote I just came across says "A teacher who LOVES teaching TEACH children to LOVE LEARNING." That is what we LOVE to do and you can do it as well!

Back to the Homeschool Expo ... they had 92 vendors which included many used book vendors as well as other artists and businesses. They estimate that they had about 350 families.  That's a great turnout and we loved being able to attend as well as participate as presenters. We were part of a panel for those wanting to know about homeschool curriculum and then later in the afternoon we spoke and had some hands-on demonstration of Unit Studies and Lapbooking. All in all, we had a great experience. Thank you  R.E.A.C.H. Homeschool Support for including us!
