Family Movie Night TOMORROW - Field of Vision!!

Earlier this year I have written some other reviews (Change of Plans and A Walk In My Shoes) on upcoming Family Movie Night films that I have been able to pre-view (before they aired) and give you my opinion of them.

Well, I have had the opportunity again to get an early viewing for the upcoming film, Field of Vision.  This show is scheduled to air on NBC on June 11, 2011 (tomorrow) at 8pm! If you'd like a sneak peek before watching the whole thing tomorrow night, you can do that here.

I won't tell you all the details, but I will give you a little taste of what the movie is about. The movie has two stories that are ultimately tied together.  The first is about a high school quarterback, Tyler McFarland, who has to decide whether or not to tell the truth about a situation that occurs between one of his teammates and a new kid at school, Cory Kimble, who has been bullied by this same teammate.

The secondary story revolves around Tyler's sister, Lucy, who receives a mysterious camera as a gift.  This camera reveals bits of information about the bully's as well as about Cory's past.  I won't say much more, but this movie is well worth your time.

As a family of young children, I would probably watch this with all of us.  There was no foul language, drug or alcohol use, sexual content or much of anything violent except for a small outburst between the bullies and Cory.  The movie does a great job of emphasizing that telling the truth is always the right thing to do, no matter what the consequence might be.

Stephen and I viewed this movie together as part of our "Anniversary Extravaganza" (more to come about that a little later.)  We both enjoyed the family friendliness of the movie.  It is nice to be able to watch a good, tasteful movie that touches on real life issues.  Field of Vision does that with it's emphasis on bullying (and how that is NOT a good thing) as well as the adage of how important telling the truth really is.

This movie did touch on many emotions -- laughter and crying -- and has the potential to bring up some great discussions, especially with those who are a bit older.  I hope that you and your family will be able to set aside time tonight to be  a part of this Family Movie Night (sponsored by Walmart and Proctor & Gamble.)
