For those of you not familiar with lapbooks, they are manilla (or any color) file folders that you fold each side into the center. Sometimes you add a flap (like we did) which is a file folder cut in half and then taped into the center of the original lapbook. Sometimes you will have double or even triple folders (which our Olympic lapbook is) depending on the information/topic being covered.
The particular lapbook guide we were using offered more activities then Arianna is able to handle as a 1st grader. So I just picked the ones I thought she'd be able to understand and enjoy learning about. Then at another time we can use this same lapbook, do different activities and get a different result. It also allows me to be able to use a resource on more occassions and get more bang for my buck. That I like a lot.
Well, I need to get back to schooling - math is calling ... then on to the Olympic lapbook (which we are planning on finishing by the end of the current Olympics.)
