As many of you know we have come to Evansville to work specifically in the Jacobsville area of Evansville which is an impoverished area for sure. For the last few months we have been trying to regularly volunteer with
The Dream Center. Last month and this month we have had the privilege of providing dinner for the middle school and high school studens who use their after school program. Last month was our first month due to a few complications and issues in getting the right dates/day of the month. Thankfully with the steady work of a friend that is the Voluneer Coordinator we got back on track.

Food all ready and waiting. |
Last month we were supported by members of a church we've been attending and helping to 're-launch' their church as they learn more about small groups, service projects, and servant leadership. The members of the church have all rallied and really come to help reach and support the kids that attend
The Dream Center weekly. Many of the studens we brought dinner to tonight will not have another meal until tomorrow's lunch or dinner at the center. Sometimes you will see the same kids come back two and even three times and we encourage it so we know that they have gotten their fill.

Serving the kids. |
We will be doing this monthly on the first Tuesday every month. We try to do a meal that is both nutritionally and something that pre-teens and teens will enjoy. Last month we had chilli. Tonight's meal was a baked potato bar. ALL the food was gone. If you would like to help us reach these students you can do that in 3 ways.
- You can pray for each of the 20 -30 middle and high school students. This is most important.
- You can also pray for those that we have gathered to continue to cook, come, and serve the students with food, but also for the ability to build relationships between them and us as we sit and eat with them and get to know them a little more each time.
- You can also support us financially. You can send money to us via PayPal and just put a note that it is for the Dream Center dinners. It really doesn't take much to pull together a good meal for them to all enjoy. (Be sure to send it via friends and family so no fees come out of either side. 😉)
Thank you for listening and praying for both us,
The Dream Center, and the people of Evansville. The Lord is at work here.
