One of the reasons I chose this as my first review, is (a) the UnPlanned book was not an option and (b) my family's involvement in the pro-life movement many years ago. Even though the issues surrounding abortions are not the most comfortable, I believe as Christians we need to have all the facts.
This one-hour long documentary takes us on a journey in the life of Abby Johnson. Abby, who came from a Christian home in a small rural town in Texas, faced the 'real-world' while in college. It was in college, and after having two abortions, that she became a volunteer for Planned Parenthood. Through her desire to help women in their moment of crisis and need, Abby climbed the ranks to eventually become the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Bryan - College Station, TX.
While moving from volunteer to counselor, and finally director, Abby came in contact with those 'on the other side.' Those who were a part of Coalition for Life and 40 Days for Life, showed Abby love and grace through their prayer and kind words to her day in and day out.
It was while in the position as clinic director that Abby finally realized she had been believing a lie. This realization forced her to make a decision that would change her mission as a Planned Parenthood proponent to one who is now fighting for the lives of the unborn.
Her leaving as director of the clinic in Bryan, triggered a lawsuit from Planned Parenthood, to have her silenced. The truth behind Planned Parenthood was now clear to Abby as she joined forces with those who had stood on the other side of the fence, faithfully praying for her and others like her. Take a minute to watch this short clip.
I found this documentary very insightful and genuine. Abby really allowed herself to be exposed as she shared an intimate look into her life. This documentary was a collaboration between Tyndale House Entertainment, Focus on the Family, and Franklin Springs Media as a companion to Abby Johnson's book of the same name.

I have read the book (and it is fabulous!) but I would like to share this story with my dh and my teen. Neither is really wanting to read the book...
And I agree, I think Christians need to really understand this issue...
I like the Unplanned book FB page.
I already followed your blog :)
I loved the book, and wouldn't have mentioned it before if I had read all the optional ways of entering!
I reviewed it here: http://debrakb.blogspot.com/2011/01/book-review-unplanned.html
But my final conclusion was that I thought that anyone who cares about sanctity of life issues really needs to read this book.
I really was able to identify with Abby. I held some fairly contradictory views on abortion as well, and really truly bought the "safe, legal and rare" mantra of the pro-choice crowd. I could easily have become like Abby, really. You know, because I care about women in trouble.
I love how in the book, Abby points out some of the really hate-filled pro-life people, but also points out the compassionate ones. And she points out the compassionate Planned Parenthood workers as well. It's so easy to do the "us vs. them" and "good vs. bad" in regards to the people involved. But so many in the pro-choice crowd really do care.
Okay, I wrote a book myself here...
I have not volunteered at a crisis pregnancy center, but I have participated in some activities where they were working on obtaining maternity clothes and baby stuff to be able to give to needy patrons.
I have felt really convicted to get involved, but I have no transportation...
Someday...
I don't know... I found you through the crew though :) Oh, reading Circle C reviews!
I'd like to win this so I could watch it, and share it. Her story is important.

I donate money to our local crisis centers.
I am interested to win and watch this because so much is skewed in the news. It would be neat to actually "see" what she says and what happened. Thank you.
I tried to like Abby Johnson directly, but I was taken back to the book's Fb page.

Just last Tuesday, the women of our church hosted a dinner and game night for the gals of the local pregnancy center and had a short Bible lesson about how special and important each of them is.
I heard about this giveaway from you since I follow your blog. Hehe. Thank you.
I'd love anything that opens my teens eyes to the realities of this broken world, yet shines into their lives the truth that God can take even the most broken, lost, misled person and bring them back to His plan of glory.

Stopping by from the Crew. I have not read the book or seen the video but would love to see it.
I went to facebook and liked Abby Johnson and Unplanned! Thanks for hosting this give-a-way.
I'd like to win this DVD because the girls and I heard her speak on Focus on the Family last year, and we were intrigued by her story! Would love to learn more about it.

Yes, I've volunteered at a Crisis Pregnancy Center - we hosted their annual Christmas party at our home one year, and it was a lot of fun!
