What is the Cost?

At church tonight we were discussing the passage from Luke 3:15-22. Our pastor shared with us that we are all called. That doesn't mean we need to wait to hear "where we are called to," but that when we accepted Christ we accepted His charge to go to the nations and tell the world about Him. Did you know that there are 4.5 billion people who still do not know about Jesus? Do you also know that there are 1.6 billion who have never heard His name? Let me make it even more astounding. In our tri-county area, it is close to 80% of the people do not attend any form of church. That is mind-boggling.

Toward the end of service, Pastor Will also shared this quote, "When God's will for our life is uncertain, find your certainty in His commands." We need to be doing what it is that God has called us to do. His commands are things like read the Bible, pray, tell others about Christ.

I wanted to share this clip from Frances Chan, that we saw tonight during our service. It really spoke to me and I hope that it speaks to you.

What will your cost be for following Christ or will you just be "hanging on for dear life"?

Very cool! I feel like God is moving in our church in a way that I haven't witnessed yet. I hope this blog continues to challenge more and more people with the Urgency of the Mission
