Our School Room - The Not Back to School Blog Hop

Not Back to School Blog Hop

Well this week at the "Not Back to School Blog Hop" is about the School Room and come to think of it I don't really have a school room. We mostly have a school house. The home we currently live in is not really very large especially when it comes to storage areas, so coming up with a way to disguise all the 'school supplies' was an essential. This past February we purchased two pieces of furniture - one was a TV hutch, the other a buffet. Normally one would use a buffet for housing dishes. I on the other hand house school books and notebooks. The left side is for the two girls (each has a shelf) and the right side is for all of "my" books. We also have some milk crates that are in different colors to separate their different functions including art supplies, extra reading books, etc.

However, I am trying to find a better solution. This last year the milk crates and what time I did have with the buffet, just did not seem to work. I have a very tight area and I'm hoping that I can come up with a clever scenario that allows us to be able to get to our needed school equipment, without turning the living space of the house into a mess each and every day.

We also have a bookcase in both of the kids rooms upstairs. The girls share a room and have a bookcase of just every day fun reading books. In Seanan's room there are 3 large bookcases, that have lots of books from Christian fiction, to textbooks, to other homeschooling books, to craft type books.

The last area of our school house is our computer area. The computer now is located in mommy and daddy's room. That is the only logical place for it now, but it originally was in Seanan's room (before it became his room.)

I do not have any pictures to share, and I am sorry for that. But my school areas are a bit too messy and cropping the pictures won't help.

So how do you have your school room set up? I would love to hear about it. And you can go to Heart of the Matter and link up your own post.

I have lots pf pics on mine, to show that we school everywhere too! I wish I had an Ikea to get some really fun organizational stuff, but on the other hand my husband would have to get a second job if there were!

I would love to have a schoolhouse room! We like you live in a small house with no storage. We have a shelf with baskets. Kind of keeps it organized.

Have a great weekend.

I can be tricky making it work in tight spaces. A hutch is a great idea to hide stuff away!
